After graduating from Carleton with an art degree, I started my adult life working as a graphic designer and art director in the publishing and corporate communications world. In the 90’s I retooled; got a master’s in Product Design from Stanford and became a physical product designer. I’ve now been practicing product development as a consultant for over 20 years.

During my years on staff at Design Concepts (Madison WI), and later at Solid Design Solutions (Minneapolis) I’ve helped my clients to develop medical devices, consumer electronics, sporting goods, commercial furnishings, office equipment - and a few products that defy categorization. It’s been fun, educational, and rewarding work.

Now that I’m starting my own practice, I have the opportunity to take more complete ownership of the process. I take a straight-forward approach; careful but effective, well-informed but not burdened by attitude, welcoming of input from others and yielding, among other things, efficiency, value, and ultimately, great results for you.
